Cosmetics
For the cosmetic industry, the laboratory performs, in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice:
- characterisation of raw materials, selecting specific methods to assess their composition and/or identify typical markers to detect both the active substance and any contaminants or impurities
- analysis of formulated products, meaning determination of active ingredients, dosage of preservatives, antioxidants, disinfectants, solar filters and metals, flash point, density, viscosity and pH.
Regulatory framework
- Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 is a recast of Council Directive 76/768/EEC of 27 July 1976 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to cosmetic products.
